Public News The Tide has Turned.

In the broodwar scene cheating has always been an issue, i'm happy to say lately the tide has been turning against hackers, with new methods to catch them. This clan should be all about encouraging fair play.

So i decided to write this so more people can be aware of ways to protect youself vs hackers, or find out who hacks.

The first being the new Flag Method, to summarize hackers were previously detected by having a lot of suspicious actions, but newer hacks remove ALL suspicious actions. The average player in a 15 minute game will make a suspicious action by clicking his opponents stuff. Meaning now its the flip side, having ZERO suspicious actions is SUSPICIOUS! The next thing came in the form of a program that uses the Flag Method to check a MASSIVE amount of replays in a short amount of time, as opposed to manually checking each and every replay. This is a little buggy, but with some patches it will be useful. You can find out more about this program called OblivionHunter Here:

The latest and newest and my most personal favorite, The AntiHack MapPack, which takes a few of our most favorite maps and makes them so people cant hack on them with ANY version of a maphack. More information on this awesome mappack can be found Here:

Edit: The newest versions of Oblivion/other maphacks are now undetectable on these maps, so they now only work for older versions. -Hedbergs

The only problem with these is the flag method has been patched by the newest oblivion version which came out yesterday i beleive, so it can no longer detect people hacking with that version. However all the reps previous to that, or those who haven't updated their oblivion are not immune.

Also i susgest we use these maps for the finals of all public tournaments we host, if not the semis aswel, and fro every game in BWEMT.
